A new direction

Last week during class I decided to completely change the direction of my project for this class. As deadlines for internships are quickly arriving, I have decided to make a website and learn HTML as a project. As an artist who wants her artwork to get out into the world, the best way to do that is to have a clean and professional looking website. The deadline I have made for myself is Nov. 1st as that is when most of my internship apps are due. I will be working in Photoshop to design the appearance of the site, Flash to create animations for the site, and HTML for the coding to make the site functional. I have never worked with HTML before but have found this great site http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp that has free tutorials and I think I am actually getting the hang of it. It looked like a completely different language before but I'm hoping that by the end of the week or maybe even by the end of class Wednesday I'll have a grasp on HTML.

hey kelly.
i think this is a really great idea and i would also like to learn html, as i told you. If you learn anything cool definately let me know. Also, you might want to consider using illustrator or maybe indesign instead of photoshop. I think you will find that it is much easier to use and it is in vector which also helps. If you dont know how to use it, i would be more than happy to help you out, but I'm sure since you do photoshop, it wont be too difficult for you.

It is a good idea to create a framing system for your digital life, a home for the expressive product that is part of a collective system through which humans attempt to make sense of existence and to make significance.

I wonder how the book, that big red medical dictionary, might fit (or might not) eventually fit into your work, perhaps as part of your ongoing photographic expressions/expansions, various images of extended possibilities for that book?

I am curious as to what kind of role it might play, something kept, or something passed on identified or unidentified others who might find some use for it.

This link is to a red Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary described as:
Like New condition, opened very little.
A 'Must Have' for medical transcriptionists or related field.
